The Home Craftsmen Forum message
board is open to the public, but we operate it for the benefit of our
club members. Home Craftsmen Forum reserves the right to remove
inappropriate messages and ban abusive posters at the club's
discretion.
-
Subject material will be limited
to woodworking and other DIY home shop discussions. Club related
messages such as members arranging to get together are also
appropriate.
-
Buy/sell/trade postings are
encouraged as long as they fit the subject guidelines above. Home
mortgages, drugs, automobiles, dating services, etc. do not fit the
subject guidelines and will result in the poster being banned from
using the board without further warning.
-
Pictures may be included in
postings but must be limited to 5 per posting, each being no larger
than 350 pixels by 480 pixels. While it isn't required, running your
images through a compressor benefits everyone. A number of free
compression programs and services can be found on the Web.
-
It should go without saying, but
nothing illegal will be permitted on the message board. Pyramid
schemes and chain letters are illegal, or at the very least unethical.
Illegal postings will be removed and reported to authorities with
jurisdiction to prosecute the offender.
-
Be careful what you post. Your
words can come back to haunt you. In one case I'm aware of, a reader
tracked down a poster in another state to report a perceived case of
child neglect based on an opinion the poster had expressed. The poster
ended up in a fight with civil authorities. Public message boards are
archived by search engines. Your message may be available for viewing
for years to come.
-
Don't post unnecessary personal
information. If you don't want it reported on the evening news, if you
don't want it turning up as evidence in a courtroom, don't publish it.
(For legal purposes, even private e-mail between two individuals has
been determined to be published material, open to public
inspection.)

By
using this board, you agree that your use is a privilege, not a right,
and that your privilege can be suspended at the discretion of Home
Craftsmen Forum and its officers.
