Website News – Bill Jones
Our
web site is focused on two purposes: presenting our organization to the
community and keeping members informed of our news and activities.
I am continuing, as my time permits, to organize the site to make it
easier to navigate and maintain. In the near future I’ll be installing
interactive schedules so members can sign up for activities on the web site even
if they miss the sign-up sheet at the meetings. The newsletter comes out once a
month, so the internet can be a convenient way to get the word out when things
are happening fast. This past month, I kept an updated volunteers’ work
schedule and instructions on-line for the WoodWorks show. I will do the same for
the Gift & Hobby Show in November. New listings are added to the library
catalog as tapes arrive. Check the web page to plan your borrowing and make www.homecraftsmenforum.com
a regular stop to stay informed between meetings.

Program Committee Meeting –
The
November meeting has been rescheduled to December. (Please keep Dave Gootee’s brother in your thoughts and
prayers as he recovers from a severe heart attack.)
All
club members are welcome. The
WoodWorks Show generated several leads for future programs. Come to a meeting and help the committee continue to provide
interesting and relevant programs.
The
program committee is chaired by the Vice-President, Dan Gootee.
You can contact him at 862-9046.

The Club’s “Special Thanks to You”–
WoodWorks
Show
Volunteers – (submitted by
Bill Jones) -
Our
volunteer effort at the Woodworks Show was outstanding and a few of the
exhibitors took note of that. I want to thank everyone for their part in the
program. All of you either showed up for work, gave notice so I could make other
arrangements, or supplied a replacement for themselves (thanks Don). You all
made it a pleasure to organize. We missed the mark on the Make-A-Memory
Workshop. We thought we were staffing it for the benefit of the organizers as
with other shows and they thought they were providing it for us. It turned out
to be a seat-of-the-pants operation for everyone. My fault. With that experience
behind us, we’ll have a better plan and a better program next year.
Turkey
Cuts (submitted by
Executive Committee) –
Thank
you to all the members that made turkey cuts out for the club use in our booth
at the Christmas Gift and Hobby Show.
