Craftsmen Forum received the gift of a Titebond HiPURformer Advanced Bonding System for our toy shops. The presentation
was made to toy coordinator Darrell McConnell by the Titebond Representative,
Amy Jo Morrise, at the Franklin Glue display during the Indianapolis WoodWorks
Show. Throughout the year, members make hundreds of wooden toys that are boxed
and delivered each Christmas to a number of area children’s charities. |

Indianapolis WoodWorks Wraps Up, Moves on to Nashville Tenn. – (by Bill Jones)
Indianapolis’
first WoodWorks show made a modest start on October 10th this year.
An abbreviated list of the usual exhibitors was anchored by Popular
Woodworking Magazine, the show’s media sponsor. On display, a roll-around tool
bench featured in PW’s October magazine and free copies of the November issue.
Attendance was lighter than the promoters hoped for, but that gave a once
in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy demonstrations without the press of the
crowd. Exhibitors somewhat disappointed with the turnout all still expect to be
back next year. The people brought in to put on the show were the real draw.
Names like Frank Klausz, Yeung Chan, Don Webber, Toshio Odate, and others
demonstrated techniques at free sessions throughout the day. Familiar former
staffers from American Woodworking staged how-to’s on finishing and
sharpening. Woodline (router bits) owner Wayne Sutter demonstrated tall clock
case making and passed out copies of his plans. The three day event was held at
the Indiana State Fairgrounds in the refurbished Blue Ribbon Pavilion.
