- Change in Deadline for Newsletter –

To facilitate a timely delivery of your newsletter and to allow sufficient time to advertise our meetings by posting of the HCF Newsletter at local businesses, the deadline for submitting material for the newsletter has been changed.  All information for the newsletter must be submitted no later than the meeting the month before the newsletter is issued.  Example:  To place a “Member Items for Sale” ad in the November Newsletter, the information must be in the hand of the club secretary/newsletter editor no later than the October meeting.  Nan Schulte is the secretary and newsletter editor.

Your cooperation in this is appreciated.

The club will be participating in the WoodWorks Show woodworking show on October 10-12.  We will have a booth and we will need members to man (or woman) our booth.  Please check your schedule before the September meeting and come prepared to sign up for a time.  Tom Meeker will be passing a sign up sheet at the meeting.

Member can also sign up to work at WoodWorks Make-A-Memory Workshop, a special area, staffed by experienced woodworkers from local guilds and clubs.  Under their watchful supervision, children and their parents or grandparents make a scrollsaw project together.  The projects vary, but dinosaurs and flowers and peace symbols are perennial favorites.

Club member who work at the booth or volunteer at the Make-A-Memory Workshop will receive a pass good for the whole weekend to attend the WoodWorks Show.  For more information about the woodworking show, please check out their web site at
http://woodworks2003.com/.

The show is asking woodworkers to bring projects to the SawDust Cafe to be judged.  There will likely be gift certificates and tools awarded as prizes.  - Tom
