Director's Report for
2003
A Report from Darrell
McConnell and the Toy Shops
Hi, All
Here are the final toy distribution figures for 2003.
Toys Distributed were: 1607
Of that figure 80 cells phones were given to St. Mary's Child Center as
Speech Therapy Tools by Sam Phillips and that 80 were not in the general
distribution.
Added to that total were 320
kits made for Lutheran Disabilities Ministries, and 100 toys kept as
display toys, given as gifts, or left for next year's distribution, and 510
pieces of doll house furniture that made up 5 rooms of furniture for 17
doll houses, which gives HFC a Grand Total of 2537 toys for 2003 toy
making projects.
All in all I think that we had a
very good year in the making of toys. On the down side of that good news is the
quality of the finish on some of the toys made this year. This is something that
needs to be addressed by the toy committee next year as a high priority item. I
will not single out any one place that the problems came from, because most all
persons were a little slack in the finishing process, partially because of the
time factor of the people making the toys not getting started soon enough on
their projects, but it is one that all persons involved in the toy making
process needs to made aware of.
Darrell
